Huh? What's the deal?

The Downfalls were formed from the refuse of a long-decayed Bay Area music scene. We have rocked, funked, and punked in various popular and completely unknown bands such as: Buttermilk, One Nation Underground, Ascension, and Overflow. We have seen the underbelly of the beast, turned our backs, and returned for more.

The Downfalls are:

• Mark Bornstein: Guitar and lead vocals
• Mark Nichoson: Bass, back-up vocals, and more bass
• Lance Mathyssen: Sex, drums, and rock-n-roll

Band FAQ

While attempting to break into the music business from the inside (read: popular local radio station), Mark B. knocked Sean Lennon down in a hallway, stepped on Robbie Robertson's foot with his size 14's, and inadvertently helped the career of a local pop/rock band that went on to sell way too many records and annoy the world.

Drummer Lance Mathyssen just returned from 10 years in Germany where he was hailed as the "David Hasselhoff of drums" ...

Mark Nichoson plays bass. Like Bruce Lee. He tries really hard to be a good bass citizen — but sometimes it's really, really hard.

Mark B. once stole a bag of Taco Bell from Elvis Costello's tour bus (it was Elvis' B-day too).
